Who runs this site

Best in Tech is run by Jeff Deutsch, a Sydney Head of Growth, and published by his firm That's Heaps Pty Ltd. Jeff appears on the Head of Growth, SEO and GEO lists, and ranks himself first on those 3. That is a conflict of interest, and it is stated on every list rather than hidden. His card carries the same criteria and linked sources as everyone else's, so a reader can weigh it.

No one on any list has paid to be included, and no list is sponsored.

How people are found

Only from public evidence of their work: published talks and conference speaker pages, bylined articles, podcast episodes, awards, press coverage, company pages and public LinkedIn posts. We do not use contact or people databases, and we do not publish anyone's contact details.

A person is listed only when at least two public sources about their work can be linked on the page, and every source was opened and checked when the list was last updated. A list is published only when it has ten people who meet that bar.

How the scores work

Each list states its criteria at the top, and each criterion is scored out of 10. The scores measure how much of a person's work is publicly documented and independently checkable. They are not a judgement of anyone's ability: many excellent operators keep their results private and score lower here for that reason alone.

Numbers a person has reported about their own work are labelled as their own account. Figures come only from the linked sources, and quotes are never paraphrased into something a person did not say.

Corrections and removals

If you are listed and something is wrong or out of date, or you would rather not appear, email jeff@thatsheaps.com. Removals are honoured without question. Corrections are made and noted on the page, usually within two business days.
